My Pets

I grew up having dogs and hamsters, and over the years I’ve had cats, hamsters, rats, mice, gerbils, bunnies, and even tarantulas. Currently, I have three cats.

Luigi

Luigi is my handsome tabby, adopted in late June of 2018. He was 5 years old, small, and extremely shy when I got him—although at the shelter, he was yelling and sticking his paws out of his cage, demanding my attention. Now he’s my big tank boy, and quite a bit braver. Despite his size, his meows are just tiny squeaks. His favorite place is the catio (screened porch).

Cannoli

Cannoli is my ridiculous baby. He came home with me at about 5 months (formerly feral) in August 2018 when I went to the pet store to buy gerbil food, but came home with him. I call him my little shadow because he always wants to be near me, and he loves to snuggle—but he only wants to be pet on his own terms. He’s a biter, but I love him.

Wheat Thin aka Wefin

When I moved to Texas, I started feeding a large colony of stray and feral cats. One of them, whom I named Wheat Thin, would come around when I came outside and beg for attention and pets. He’d sit on my porch and wait for me, staring at the doorbell camera. I’d open the door and he’d almost fall inside because he’d been sleeping up against it. Finally, I gave in and brought him indoors. He’s FIV+ and does NOT get along with Luigi, but he’s living the cozy inside life now.
